Two weeks ago at our small group, we were finishing up the last chapter of a study called "Jaded". Good material~ I recommend~ especially if you feel some bitterness creeping into your life. One thing the study pointed out is that if you are bitter or jaded in one area of your life, that will begin to overflow into other areas of your life. Enlightening! Good food for thought! Anyway, as we were wrapping up the Jaded series, the material led us into a discussion about hope. Here is one of the thoughts we discussed: Hope must have a foundation or it is just wishful thinking. Praise God, we have THE foundation on which to base our hope! Today is the eve of the day in history that is the genesis of hope for the world: the Resurrection. Without Jesus, and his sacrificial death on the cross and victory over death through the Resurrection, we could only wish for victory over our own present circumstances. But because He DID die for our sins and DID have power over death, we have hope. The Resurrection changed everything. It gives us the perspective that those things in our lives that are out of our control (and face it, that's everything) can be trusted in the hands of our Savior, and that he has the Power to redeem it all. HE IS RISEN! HE IS RISEN INDEED!
