We have been hit hard with the news over and over that our economy is in horrible shape. That we are at a dire crossroads.
The lawmakers just voted down the latest rescue package, and Suze Orman, a financial specialist, was on CNN telling us, "Folks, it's extremely bad." Suze said the bailout plan has to pass.
I am not smart enough nor have I done enough research to really grasp whether or not it's a good plan (everyone says it's not, but needed anyway).
Many projections in the future are not pretty. The stock market dropped over 700 points today. Ms. Orman believes the market will not rebound until the year 2015.
As I sat in front of my little kitchen television as I cooked dinner, my spirits were dropping as fast as the stock market....trying to get my mind around the enormity of the situation.
Added to my malaise is the political situation. I read the presidential polls daily. It's an obsession. I hang on to the stats of the Rasmussen report, the Gallup poll, and a new site Josh has turned me onto: fivethirtyeight.com My party is not fairing well. November may not be a good month for me.
Then, this thought hit me:
"Some trust in chariots (banks) and some in horses (government), but we will remember the Name of the Lord our God." ~ Psalm 20:7
God's word is always relevant!

Great post Patty! During unsettling times it's good to take comfort and encouragement in the the Word.
Great Word! I too was feeling the weight of our current crisis, you know the devil likes to campout near your ear, when God directed me to Psalm 20. I was preparing a message for the Search & Rescue Friday Night Church Alive services, an inner city church, when I googled and found your posting. True seekers of God have been praying for revival, I believe this crisis is due to our prayers, God is shaking things up to get our hearts attention.
Don't believe all the polls. I was looking at the stats of a poll they took in PA. If you read the fine print, you would realize that 46% of those polled were in southeast PA (i.e. Philly). They polled no one in northwestern PA. A little skewed? I think so.
