Can I get an AMEN that today was an incredibly beautiful Autumn day?
It almost makes me want to start my list of favorite months (per Josh's blog) with October! We started off the day with a really fun birthday party for our little friend Andrew, who turned five today. With a Buzz Lightyear theme, the party, held at a grove in North Park, was filled with creative activities for the kids and enjoyable conversation for the adults. Andrew's mom made a delightful cake that showed off her decorating skills. She gave us all some tips on cake decorating that I can't wait to try! After a yummy lunch of pizza, salad, and the awesome cake, the party was over. Andrew's parents are wise to know 2 hours is long enough for a kid's birthday gala!
As we left North Park, Jon said, "It's too beautiful to go home...let's head north to Grove City to watch our nephew Matt play football."
So, we headed north and got an eyeful of the Creator's majesty on the way. Anyone who does not get to experience the changing seasons is really missing out!
As we walked close to the field where the game between Geneva and Grove City was well under way, we heard my nephew's name over and over on the loud speaker as he made tackle after tackle. So proud!
Alas, Matt's team, Geneva, lost (big time) to Grove City. But at the end of the game, both teams intermingled at mid-field, got down on one knee, and prayed together. It was a beautiful moment on a beautiful day.
