Life with Levi

Levi came to stay for four days over this Christmas/New Year holiday. How blessed are we to have him in our lives! He brought with him all the toys that Grandma thinks are too big to handle at their apartment. One of them is a blow up basketball hoop with return chute. Levi and I got it blown up this morning (it came with a pump) and Jer woke up to hang it over Levi's bedroom door. (Yes, Levi has his own room at our house) So, we played basketball for a while. We also played Chutes and Ladders, Trouble, Guess Who? and put together a puzzle of the United States. This was all before 10am!! By then, I needed a small break, so Jer set him up on a game system with a basketball game. I reclined in the double recliner to catch my breath. Soon the phone rang and we were invited to meet my sisters at Panera for lunch. Levi thought maybe that was the place he went and threw up afterwards. I said, no, I don't think so. When we got there and met our relatives, my niece Megan had ANOTHER gift for Levi: a remote control Monster truck. He was also able to demonstrate for my sister Beth, a reading specialist, what a good reader he is. Although only six, she feels he is reading on at least a fourth grade level. Conversations with Levi are so interesting and enlightening. It is great to have a chance to see life through the eyes of a six year old for a few days.

Six and reading on a fourth grade level! I think that is unprecedented in the history of the world! Doesn't it make you wonder what he'll become! He's a little genious. =)
