This year for Jon's birthday, Dec 2, the kids and I went together and got him a digital flat screen TV. As you can imagine, he was thrilled. We turned our dining room back into a TV room to accommodate the newest fixture in the household. As is often the case, once that was completed, the old love seat just didn't seem comfortable enough to sit on while watching the new TV. Which caused us to ponder another purchase (when you start down this path, the process seems to take on a life of it's own)
Jon is into comfort. I am into style. It makes for some conflict in a home.
We decided to visit a furniture showroom and look around for something that would meet our separate requirements.
In the clearance section, Jon found something that met his comfort requirement, and I found something that would suffice for my desire for style.
That is to say, it was the right color.
Jon, however, was not satisfied with the clearance price of 60% off. Not when he saw other things in the section were marked 70% off. So, Jon proceeded to visit the showroom every day to see if "his" piece of furniture would adopt the 70% off tag. I think they got tired of his visiting, as the sales people finally offered him the piece at 70% off.
The item in question is a double recliner. It is made of a soft, velor like fabric. And it is just about the most comfortable thing I have ever sat on/laid on/slept on. Last weekend Jon and I watched four movies and didn't move a muscle. During the Steeler game on Sunday, Jon, Bethany AND I reclined on it (Beth slept). Reclining has become our new hobby. I guess you could say we are Recliner Potatoes.
