Have you ever read or studied The Love Languages of God? It's an awesome book by Gary Chapman. He identifies five love languages in the book:
Acts of service
gifts
physical touch
quality time
and
words of affirmation
I am definitely a words of affirmation type of girl.
The teaching I had on the love languages is that you usually have one of these languages that make you FEEL loved, and one that you use to EXPRESS love.
Also, it seems you have a secondary love gift.
My secondary gift is probably physical touch, since I am a hugger. It could be quality time, though, because spending time with friends and loved ones is important to me as well.
However, to me, the most loving thing you can do for me is a positive verbal expression.
However, to me, the most loving thing you can do for me is a positive verbal expression.
I mean, who doesn't like to hear affirming words?
So, for those of you out there who don't always communicate well, here are some hints:
If someone is having a bad day, express verbally how much they mean to you.
If someone does a good job, let them know it....in words!
If someone is sad, let them know you're there for them.
If someone fails, tell them you love them anyway.
If someone is struggling, tell them you struggle, too.
Silence is not always golden. If you are able, share a positive word!"Pleasant words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones." Prov 16:24

My mother in law gave us this book for our first wedding anniversary and it was great. I am definitely an acts of service and quality time kind of girl. I understand you can have more than one language, and those are mine. Ask Isaak. He'll tell you how excited I get when he does work for me. Especially house work. :)
It's amazing to see these principles at work, isn't it?
