Best Summer Ever!
This has been an awesome summer. We have had some off-the-hook gorgeous days with warm sunshine, blue skies and low humidity. NOW THAT'S MY KIND OF SUMMER. And it just seems like the action never stops! It was so enjoyable to have my brother-in-law, sister-in-law, neice and great nephew here. I loved having a baby in the house! Jake is 8 months old and a sweetheart. A few days after they departed, my sister threw a graduation party for her daughter Sarah. Sarah graduated from Shaler and is Miss Personality Plus. Her grad party was at North Park and although "severe storms" were predicted for the day, we did not get a drop of rain or a clap of thunder. For our entertainment, there was karaoke! Josh did several numbers, even did a duet with my sister Carol. An old friend from college was there who is an outstanding vocalist as well as a character. I did an upbeat rendition of "You Can't Hurry Love" with a lot of audience participation.
The day after the party, my college roommate Jan, pictured on the left above, who now lives in S. Carolina, came to stay. What fun we had! She is a person who will make lemonade when handed a bunch of lemons. We laughed, we cried, we ate good food, we shopped, we sunbathed by Beth's pool...having her here for a few days was a mini-vacation.
Tonight Josh is taking me to see Les Miserables at the Benedum (yes, he is a sweet son). Tomorrow Jon and I are going to the Pirate game and then to the Renaissance to spend the night for our anniversary. And a trip to the Bed and Breakfast with the sisters is planned for the firsdt week in August. I am blessed!
