In a Fog
I'm in a funk today. Feel like the fog is smothering me. We had this bright idea on Thursday to head to Dayton, Ohio on Saturday for the Pitt vs. U of Dayton basketball game. We had earned a free night at the Marriott and the Marriott in Dayton is right across the street from their basketball arena. Sweet! Josh would follow Jon and I in his car, and head for Tennessee from there. Jer got us free tickets to the game, and even scored Josh and I front row seats right behind the team. Jon was in peanut heaven with the Dayton students. There were like 14,000 Dayton fans waving white towels and screaming their heads off. The atmosphere was very hostile for the Panthers (and us!) and probably one of the loudest indoor games I have ever witnessed. To put it mildly, the Panthers played horribly. Worst of all, our general, the man who runs the team, went down when he tripped over a cheerleader's feet. I think her feet were in the court. Anyway, Levance broke his ankle and will be out for 6 weeks. This after we already lost Mike Cook to a season-ending ACL injury last week vs. Duke. To say the four plus hour trip home was long is an understatement. Now, the Steelers are losing to the Ravens. My whole winter entertainment is being redefined in a few short days.

I am definitely right there with you. And its now way more than six weeks. 8 weeks seems like the best case scenario.
Then I thought...what if the guys can do well enough and hold on, keep us around .500 in the BE, then we get levance back for March? We could maybe get a record of 9-9, 10-8, or 11-7 in the BE, then win two games in the BET, and maybe get a 6 or 7 seed. Then we could shock the world and go to the final four!
We haven't been able to do it as the favorite (much like the Steelers under Cowher). Maybe we need to be a HUGE underdog, like the Steelers.
Who knows!
I'm sorry to hear about this funk, Patty! That is no fun!
=(
But you never know, things could turn around! With a fan like you in their corners, Pitt and the Steelers are the luckiest teams around!
