I felt I needed to do a review of the newest specialty shop in the Gibsonia/Hampton area......Tickled Pink. Why? #1, because I gave it the wrong name in a previous blog (I said Beth and I went to Think Pink) and #2, people have asked me what I thought of it!
If you are unaware of the location of Tickled Pink, it's across the street from Arby's on Rt. 8. You cannot miss it because the building is very very pink. That building has been pink as far back as I can remember but it used to house maybe a real estate agency?
The first drawback is parking. There are maybe six spots out front. I don't know if there are any in the back, but it didn't seem like it. If there are six cars occupying the six spots, and yours is one of them, it makes it rather crowded to get out of the parking lot back onto Rt. 8.
I think the name of the store is clever and the fact that the building is pink is great.
The shop advertizes itself as a gift and women's accessories store. That it is! It is also a consignment shop, so there is a bit of a flow problem once inside. I am of the opinion that the store has not found it's "voice" yet. Maybe it never will. There is no general theme to the store but rather a hodgepodge mix of items. Although named "Tickled Pink", everything in the store is NOT pink.
There is a lot of jewelry for sale. If you need a necklace and earring set to go with a particular outfit, you might want to check them out. If you know someone that would like jewelry for a gift, you could probably find something there.
I also found it to have a decent selection of specialty Steeler items: bibs and socks for the baby, Steeler jewelry, and other "must haves" like Steeler toilet paper, mugs, Terrible Towels.
There are also porcelain dolls, candles, and miscellaneous country decor items.
Tickled Pink will not replace my "go to" stores for gifts in this area. I like the merchandise better at Target, T J Maxx and the country store on Rt 8.
Will Tickled Pink make it? Sadly, probably not. Did everyone see that the 2nd bridal store to join our area has a "everything must go" sign?
But stop in and give it a try. Maybe it will tickle you .............. pink.
