Is there a doctor in the blog?
Did you read the story on cnn.com about blogging being the new outlet instead of going to a psychiatrist? The premise is, you can blog about your feelings, your concerns, your hopes, and your dreams, and get some feedback from others in the blogging world that will help you work out your problems. If, for instance, you have just experienced grief, you can post the label "grief" on your entry, and others wanting to talk about or share a similar experience can find you blog, post a comment on your blog and start a dialogue. I have not delved so far into the blogging world that I am reading stranger's blogs on the internet. I have read a few, and been scared off by a few. What I find enjoyable and somewhat comforting is the small network of bloggers we have who read each others' entries, keep up on each other's lives, and comment now and then. Now that I am thinking about it, it seems that I am probably from the smallest blogging unit in our group. I don't have a Facebook page that directs people to my site, nor do I have a large number of links to others' blogs. HMMMM. Maybe that is why I don't find it quite interactive enough for me. I have not enlarged my blogging world enough to get the community experience that others on cnn seemed to be talking about. Interesting. Perhaps I should start using the "labels" option and someone new will enter my blogging sphere. I am trying to decide if I find that creepy. Maybe I'm too old for this blogging thing!

If you want to really be amazed go to statcounter.com If you sign up and install the stat counter on your blog. You will be amazed at the people who will be on there. More then you think. Give it a shot.
Personally, I find blogging to be a great outlet. Of course, I don't feel free to share everything on my mind for two reasons 1) I am a private person =) and 2) Anyone I know could be reading it. But for sticky situations, I am usually able to blog and keep it generic enough, but still feel better after having blogged.
P.S. I have never gotten a real comment from a stranger. Maybe I need to branch out, too.
No way! Did you know that CNN linked over to you? Clearly you can interact with the pros my friend.
I find blogging to be a life saver on some days when I just feel like I'm going to lose my mind.
But I've discovered there are some things I can and cannot blog about. If I even mention my husband (see I can't even say his name here) by name, he gets all bent out of shape and makes me take his name off. Because, you know, referring to him as my husband throws people off when I post about how lazy and disorganized he is. :)
Like Heather, I have never gotten a comment from a stranger. Either they aren't reading my blog, or they are too chicken to post in the comments, or they might be too lazy to take the time to sign up with a google ID so they can post. Who knows?
But you're never too old to blog. I enjoy reading your stuff, so keep at it, Patty!
