A new wrinkle in my resume

Recently I was asked to coordinate the project of bringing one of the Honduran young men to the United States for a visit. I was a little annoyed at first. I work part time and am active in my church. When was I going to find time to be an international liason with the American embassy in Tegucigulpa??? Just saying it is a mouthful! But then, I just flipped the coin and looked at the other side and decided, how cool of a gig is this? I am going to get to navigate the website of the American embassy, get to know the ins and outs of getting a Visa, and be proficient in creating itineraries for international visitors!
I believe I've blogged previously about Wensen, and his picture is posted in that entry. He is around 22 and studying to be a Pastor. He was one of our translators and speaks English very well.
Wensen is one of the original orphans from the villa de San Francisco that Sonnie (also from a previous post) discovered when she went to Central America in the early to mid 90's. Praise God he made it through that difficult time in his life and has now dedicated himself to serving the Lord.
For this project, I had to send an itinerary of what Wensen will be doing while he is in Pittsburgh. Besides helping out with Bakerstown Presbyterian's Summer Blast Bible school, I have him going to a Pirate game, speaking at Rich Mar Rotary, going to the Carnegie Science Center, and giving his testimony at Kids Club. I also have on the agenda swimming at North Park pool, visiting the mission team in Bemus Point, New York, and riding the incline up to Mt. Washington.
One important detail of this process: I have to be responsible to both the American government and the Honduran officials that I will be sure Wensen goes back when his travel Visa expires. I hereby pledge I will get him back!!

I am sure, if it fit in the schedule, that he could also speak at Bakerstown Alliance :)

That is awesome Patty! It is amazing to see how God has blessed you by being faithful and going on that mission trip to Honduras.
