Day Two of Apartment Hunting brought S U C C E S S !!!
Josh found a cute one bedroom in a house with a yard, a tree, and (unheard of in the city)....a garage! It was apartment #1 on the tour this afternoon.
It is on the first floor (key~no carrying furniture up narrow, steep stairs) and has a large kitchen. Get this: it has a dishwasher and a garbage disposal. There is a washer and dryer in the basement.
As soon as I stepped in the yard of this place, I knew we had a winner! I had a peace within that made my heart smile to think of Josh living there. He, however, was not convinced as it was not in the neighborhood he had his mind set on.
So, instead of making a commitment there and then, we went to look at another option in a different part of the city. Bethany and I nixed it in our minds right away (picture that narrow, steep staircase I mentioned....) but Josh had to mull it over and make his own decision.
He finally decided the pluses of apartment #1 were too good to pass up.
We travelled back to that part of Pittsburgh and perused the neighborhood. Here are the pluses to that neck of the woods: a park two blocks away with basketball courts, tennis courts, a playground and a softball field. A pool a block away from the park. A cool "business" section with an ice cream shop, a coffee shop, a dry cleaner, some restaurants and banks and other stores.
Oh, and did I mention THE VIEW?
You see, this new dwelling, Josh's new digs, is on MOUNT WASHINGTON.
Fourth of July fireworks at Josh's this year!!
