Today we went apartment hunting with our oldest son, Josh. He has happily moved home to Pennsylvania after several years in the south. It is wonderful to have him back, and as fun as empty nest can be, we have been enjoying both he and Jeremy being back at the Orchard Park homestead. Josh got a good job with a union~~and so, his plan was never to stay long at our abode. Now that he has a few paychecks under his belt, he is ready to venture out and make his own nest in the 'burgh.
He has done a lot of searching on craigslist and some exploring in Pittsburgh neighborhoods. Josh seems to be an Urban Boy (or should I say Urban Man). He really wants to live in "the city" and partake of all that citylife has to offer. Neighborhoods like Morningside, Bloomfield, Mt. Troy, Beechwood, and Friendship have all been examined and scoped out.
The heat did not add to any of the enjoyment of snooping in others' space. But other than the sweat dripping down my back all afternoon, I was glad to be a part of the HOUSE HUNT for Josh.
Jon and I don't feel he has found the dream apartment, but more are lined up for viewing tomorrow. I am confident he is going to find a gem that he can be very happy in.
