100th Post!!

Woo Hoo! 100th post!!
Jaime's blog about Thanksgiving jogged my memory about my days dressing up as a Pilgrim.

When I was in 3rd grade, my mother made me an elaborate Pilgrim outfit, and she dressed me in it for the last day before Thanksgiving break at school.

I got to school and Mrs. Lambert made a huge deal out of how cute I looked. You have to remember, I was very tiny. I know I am short now, but I had a growth spurt after tenth grade to get to the height I am now. Before that, I truly was abnormally short. So, here comes this midget to school in a Pilgrim outfit. It had to be a scene.

Mrs. Lambert decided I must LEAD the Pilgrim Parade around the school. With me at the helm, our class traipsed from class to class, singing "Come, ye thankful people, come. Raise the song of harvest home. All have safely gathered in, 'ere the winter storms begin. God our Maker doth provide for our wants to be supplied. Come, ye thankful people, come. Raise the song of harvest home."

I took my role very seriously and did my best "bridesmaid walking down the aisle" walk. I had my hands folded in a prayer-like pose.

Another thing I remember from third grade is that the girls formed a clique and wouldn't let me in. I wonder why?
