I am now 9 days into this mission trip, and I have much to share but not a lot of time. So, here are a few nuggets:
1 Having Bethany here for week one was a dream come true. She charmed everyone, both fellow mission workers and the Hondurans with her huge smile and warm heart. She left little notes of thanks and encouragement all around the mission compound. I am still looking for one addressed to me.
2.I snored so loudly two nights ago that I had to change beds in the bunk room. Jon is so relating to the woman who had to sleep beside me that night.
3. This country is off the hook beautiful!
4. My family down here is the nicest family in town. Their hearts are huge. They are precious!!
5. Surprising a pregnant Honduran woman with a spur of the moment baby shower after dark is a really fun way to spend an evening! It beats watching The Bachelor any day.
6. The doctors giving their time work and sweat for hours on end with kindness and compassion.
7. Cleaning out someone's ears can be like restoring their hearing!
8. I nicknamed a colonel in the air force, who is also a doctor, "DJ", short for Doctor Jack. I think he was in shock since he is used to being saluted.
9. There are more stars visible here each night than I knew existed.
