Ed is destroying my kitchen!

Help! Ed is destroying my kitchen!
Living in a house that was built in the 50's is challenging and sometimes a nightmare. In the 24 years we have lived here, we have upgraded and improved quite a bit....but some of that polishing has now lost it's shine and it's time to at least TRY to kick it up a notch.
Such is my kitchen project. I have NEVER, from the day we signed the mortgage papers, liked the stucco-type walls in the kitchen. The wallpaper when we moved in was cute, but worn. So, 18-20 years ago, my mom and I wallpapered the kitchen. My mom is so good at stuff like that. Me, not so much. The stucco walls we just painted and "lived with". I had stenciled over the years (both above the chair rail, and another time at the ceiling line) but that has long been painted over.
So I go to my friend Cyndi's house for a dinner party and see that she has beadboard in her very country kitchen! I decide this is for me. Thus, Ed my part time remodeler/decorator is in the midst of destroying my kitchen in order to resurrect it to new cooking life.
Today Ed brought Hunter with him. Ed retired a few months back and has had the joy and privilege of spending much time with his grandson. Today I got to pull out my Junior Scrabble I got for 25c at a yard sale this summer and entertain Hunter with the letters and gameboard. I kept screaming to Hunter, "Ed is destroying my kitchen" and Hunter would run out to Ed and say "Pa Pa, you destroying de kitchen?" and then laugh and laugh and laugh.
Who knew it could be this much fun to have your kitchen destroyed? Stay tuned!

Ha ha! Destroying is the easy part. Fixing it back up again is the pain. Trust me. We've been working on several rooms here for nearly a year now. Just when you think it's done...... :(
