Bandwagon

I must say, I am really enjoying my seat on the Penguins' Bandwagon during this effort to win the Stanley Cup . I actually have been riding the wave with them since the beginning of the playoffs. Now I am no expert on the game, or pretend to know all the rules, but I have gotten into the lingo and have picked up enough to get the gist of what is going on. The guys I work with are true HOCKEY DUDES and speak hockeytalk (I think it's a language) 10 months a year or more. Anyway, when we played the first two games in Detroit, I was a little disheartened. It looked like boys playing men, and I went to work asking the HDs if the Redwings were allowed to have 3 or 4 more players on the ice than the Penguins. I mean, didn't it seem that way? Frustrating! even for a novice like me. Then last night the game returned to The Igloo, and with the white-out produced by the fans and the skating of Sir Sid, the Penguins returned to Pittsburgh-style playing. Mellon Arena was rocking! I am sure no work is being done at Verizon Wireless this morning as the HDs are going full-tilt on the nuances of every play. And I can see why, because it was very exciting. It's fun to root for the home team and the fact that the stakes are high adds to the joy. So get out of my kitchen, and scratch my back with a hacksaw. I am counting on a hat trick without any icing cause Elvis has just left the building!

I miss you too Patty! We have to get together soon! I said to Beth the other day, I haven't even been able to talk to you about the Hills season finale! How awful!

Yep, hockey fans have their own lingo, that's for sure!
I never liked hockey until I met Isaak (liking hockey was a prerequisite to getting married to a Canadian)!
Go Pens!
