Peggy Noonan's common sense Q and As re: Healthcare

I found this article on the Drudge report (online) by Peggy Noonan about how MAYBE, just maybe, common sense of the American people will prevail and Obama's health care plan may be defeated.

Peggy is a political writer who definitely has a conservative point of view. After all, she worked for both President Regan and President Bush (the first one).

Her common sense questions are below, which she thinks are going through the minds of U.S. citizens:

Will whatever health care bill is produced by Congress increase the deficit? “Of course.”
Will it mean tax increases? “Of course.”
Will it mean new fees or fines? “Probably.”
Can I afford it right now? “No, I’m already getting clobbered.”
Will it make the marketplace freer and better? “Probably not.”
Is our health care system in crisis? “Yeah, it has been for years.”
Is it the most pressing crisis right now? “No, the economy is.”
Will a health-care bill improve the economy? “I doubt it.”

You can read the whole article here:

All I can say is, from Peggy Noonan's lips to God's ear!

I don't know. As someone with a Canadian husband, I'm well aware of how the universal healthcare system works in Canada. It's not that bad. And as someone who has been without health insurance for 4years because no insurer will take me because of my allergies, I see universal healthcare as a good solution. No one gets denied, and everyone is equal. If it's done right, it might work. But it has to be done right. That's the key.
