The Reception

I am sure I will not do justice to all the details of the Dray wedding reception, but here are a few snippets:
Jaime did a smashing job of having a theme and carrying it through. The space had hardwood floors, a wall of windows that included doors to an outdoor balcony where hors d'oeuvres and punch were served while we awaited the bride and groom. The tables, both round and rectangle, were all covered with Tiffany blue tablecloths; votive candles were used as well as floral centerpieces . The height of the floral arrangements varied from table to table. EVEN THE BEAMS IN THE CATHEDRAL-CEILINGED ROOM WERE TIFFANY BLUE.
There was a jazz band stationed on a slightly elevated stage in the front of the room, that also had a round table with two chairs upholstered in white with large black ribbon bedecking them. The bride and groom sat up front without their wedding party. I have been told this is a newer trend called a Sweetheart Table. Completing the stage on the left side was the beautiful wedding cake made by the groom's sister.
The feel of the room was a jazz club scene, or at least what I would envision a 1940s/50s jazz club would look like.
Jaime and Steve performed their first dance soon after arriving on the scene. It was a waltz (very elaborately choreographed) to "May I Have This Dance". They did a spectacular job.
The band was fab, and covered songs like "My Girl" (which is what the groom and his mother danced to, with Steve singng to his mom the whole time), "New York, New York", and"It Had to be You". There was a lot of dancing, celebrating, and laughter.
A big hit was the chocolate/cookie table that was on a long buffet, beautifully displayed and arranged. The cake, which had a raspberry filling, was served as well. DELICIOUS
Jaime and Steve personally went around the room welcoming their guests. Jaime remarked to me that "everything was going so fast!"
Toasts were made by members of the wedding party, with Jaime dabbing at her eyes with a Tiffany blue napkin the entire time. Steve and Jaime both spoke as well, thanking everyone for coming and loving them.
Both bride and groom looked HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY.
All of Jaime 's planning came together to pull off a beautiful and elegant evening of celebration.
Here's to the joyful couple!
P.S. I got a peek at the pictures. They are beyond gorgeous. Kudos, Joey Kennedy!
